(For those of you who don't know, a Villanelle is a style of poetry written in either iambic trimeter, tetrameter, or pentameter. It consists of 6 stanzas. The first line of the first stanza is used as the last line in stanzas 2 and 4, and the last line of the first stanza is used as the last line in stanzas 3 and 5. The two lines follow each other in the final stanza. The rhyme scheme is ABA ABA ABA ABA ABA ABAA)
The screams of men are near I grin because I know It is myself they fear.
The noise is sweet to hear, They fear their unseen foe. The screams of men are near.
I smile and I leer My weapon soon to show. It is myself they fear.
Never again they’ll cheer For now their fear will show. The screams of men are near.
My purpose, oh so clear To graves they all will go. It is myself they fear.
It all will end right here. Their deaths shall come so slow. The screams of men are near. It is myself they fear.

Is the iambic in there flowing or do you feel it is too forced? I just reread it and got a total Lucas vibe, too! XD

I like it. It kind of scares me and makes me see a different point to. <3 I've never really read a poem like this one before, I like the change.
