Mike woke up to the sharp stench of his home. Mike’s home was a hole in the wall of an elderly man named Stanley and filled with food. (food in mike’s eyes at least) See Mike was a rat. From a family of inventive rats who broke the stereotype of rodents always liking to eat cheese by thinking of much better uses for it. His father had invented the cheese wheel and used it as a regular wheel for the family's cart which they used to quickly move food out of Stanley’s cabinets before his llama came to eat them. (The reason for this was the llama was deformed at birth and this deformation must have harmed its brain because the llama thought it was a cat. And would chase the family of rats.) Mike remembered how the crazed llama had chomped his dull teeth on his father and swallowed him whole.
In recent months Stanley had become senile, thinking of the llama as his son and
he kept sticking his hand in the rat hole looking for dentures even though he clearly didn’t because of the way he feared going out into the light. Because of Stanley’s increasingly crazy behavior mike decided to escape the house.
He loaded up the cart with food and looked outside the hole. All he could see was freedom as the door swung open due to the breeze. He pulled the cart going as fast as he could toward the door. He thought he was home-free, when suddenly the crazy llama jumped out of its hiding place under a laundry basket full of old clothes. Mike pulled the cart faster and faster until the cart’s wheels couldn’t take it and cracked. He kept pulling even as the cart sagged. He then decided to ditch the cart and scurried as fast as he could to the door. Alas, he was not fast enough and the llama scooped him up, but then unexpectedly the llama ran outside and rammed into a tree. As the llama fell unconscious mike leaped out of its mouth and sprinted away.
The the door sprung open again and the old man came stumbling out crying about how his poor son was innocent and didn’t deserve this. He then cried out and fell. Mike could see that Stanley was barely breathing. It was almost sunset, but then suddenly it became light again and the llama woke up.
“The spirit of darkness is weak! What have you done?”, said the llama
Mike cowered in fear.
“The only way to fix this is to find the dusk flower which shall replenish my master’s health. You shall have to do it because you caused it” , the llama said.
Mike nodded and set out on his quest to find the dusk flower so that the sun could set.
