Tyvra walked with his hands over the girl's eyes, guiding her carefully. He leaned down so his mouth was near her ear. "You can open your eyes now," he said softly. He removed his hands.
Before the two of them was a lake, shrouded in the light mist of a cool summer's eve. The sun was just dipping beyond the horizon, giving everything a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The stars in the sky were just beginning to peek out of hiding. Tyvra's timing was absolutely impeccable. He led her by the hand to a white bench facing the lake and the trees silhouetted around it. In front of it was a picnic basket and blanket, laid out carefully with unlit candles, plates, and silverware.
"Well? What do you think?" he asked cautiously. Even in the splendor he was still unsure he'd done everything properly. Living in the underworld under Charon's tyranny didn't exactly teach him how to set up a romantic atmosphere.

Carea opened her golden eyes and looked around. "It is so... beautiful!" she gasped. "All of the colours..." She glanced at the stars and smiled. "I love it all!" She jumped up and gave him a hug.
She looked at the picnic, not exactly certain about what it was. "Is this how humans show their affection?" she asked. "I feel like I should have dressed fancifully! Is that not what humans do?"

He shrugged. "I live in the underworld, honey. I have an exposed jaw and I just look overall creepy. I've never exactly been on a human date...but I think this is how it works," he replied. Tyvra squirmed his way out of her grasp with much jingling from the chains on his pants. He smoothed out his black vest, removed his trench coat, and tossed it onto the bench. He paused a moment and two leathery dark purple dragon wings appeared on his back which he stretched appreciatively. A joint in them popped as he rolled his shoulders.
He gestured for her to sit on the picnic blanket and took his seat as well. He leaned forward and breathed a spark onto each of the candles, setting them alight. To anyone else in the lighting he would've cut an imposing figure... however Carea wasn't anyone else. She didn't seem to mind his hellish appearance. He opened the basket carefully, removing a napkin for each of them, and then set to work removing the rest of its contents. He placed a sandwich onto her place that looked as if he'd made it to be dragon appropriate but with style. The meats were cut into thin slices and arranged elegantly to ensure as much as possible would fit onto it. He also withdrew two wine glasses and a very expensive looking bottle of red wine. A plate of fancy little finger foods was put out too but off to the side as if he didn't expect her to really want it anyway.
Tyvra tipped his tophat when he was done. "I tried to make it presentable."

She giggled. "You are so funny!" she chirped, nudging his shoulder playfully. She glanced down and tugged at her leggings. Human clothes frustrated her to no end. They were constantly bunching up unlike scales which always stayed in their place. When she looked up, Tyvra had completed his slight transformation. She grinned. “You look spectacular!”
Slowly, she nestled down on the blanket, trying her hardest to sit as she had seen humans do before, but it was difficult. After adjusting her golden tank top, she glanced at the food. “Not only are you funny and beautiful, but you can make food, too!” she chirped, pecking him with a kiss on his cheek.

A light blush came over his nose and the cheek that still had skin. He flashed her a smile despite the half of his face that was always in a grin. He folded his wings carefully onto his back. He took his own plate and put a sandwich onto it, biting carefully into it. He spoke between bites, not wanting to speak with his mouth full. It was a habit he'd picked up while hunting for deer in his youth. Once he'd spoken and dropped his meal out of the sky and he never did it again.
Tyvra bowed his head at her in an appreciative nod. "Thank you," he replied. He paused and gave a kiss to the back of her hand. "But I am not nearly so beautiful as you. When we have finished our meal, care for a proper flight? Tonight is supposed to have calm winds."

She picked up the sandwich and turned it over in her hands a few times before taking a tiny bite out of it. “You are far too kind!” she giggled, blood instantly rushing to her cheeks. “I thank you, but I still say that you are far better looking than I am.”
After a moment of silence and nibbling on her sandwich, she shrugged. “I suppose we could. I have not gotten to fly for what seems like forever. Ammira has been far too protective of me,” she sighed, looking down at the sandwich. “I am glad we are finally alone.”

He chuckled lowly and wrapped an arm around her. "That's the benefit of not having a rider I suppose...though if I were you I wouldn't trade her for the world. Having a special bond like that with someone is irreplaceable. But yes, I am glad we get some time for ourselves without her hovering. It'll be nice to stretch our wings properly. I feel as if neither of us have been dragons for ages."
A firefly passed by his nose and he exhaled sharply, in a mock-snort. "Besides we could fly circles around these little insects. That's for sure."

“I know, but it is nice not to be around her from time to time,” she sighed, leaning against him. “I do love her, but she is… well, you know. You have met on multiple occasions!” she laughed. “I cannot wait to be rid of these infernal fabrics. I much prefer my old black scales…”
She watched the bug and giggled. “Oh, come now! It is still a cute little thing!” she said, reaching out her hand. The tiny bug landed on it and lit up before flying off. “They are very friendly!”

"Cute but irritating. I swear they have a vendetta against my nose. It seems every time I look there is one trying to fly up it," Tyvra complained. He stroked her hair lightly and affectionately. The sun was on its last glow, leaving the lake looking like smoldering fire. The mist gave a smokey effect.
He poured a glass of wine, swirled it around, and sipped it. "If you want some feel free to pour it. I wasn't sure of your opinion of alcohol."

She rolled her eyes. “Aw! They just like you!” she laughed, shooing a few of the little bugs away. She watched them fly away, something she had never really paid much attention to when she was a dragon.
She bit her lip and looked at the wine. “I have actually never had it…” she mumbled, picking up the bottle and gingerly pouring a little bit into her glass and looking at it. “Humans have very strange tastes…” She held up the glass and swirled it around as she had seen Tyvra do. “Interesting…” She pressed it to her lips and took a tiny sip.

Tyvra shooed a few of the little creatures away with another mock snort. He finished his wine and set down the glass after wiping the rim clean with a cloth napkin. He gave her a warm expression and held her tight. "They do have strange taste, but it grows on you. It's not very bitter... and it smells quite different than what you may be used to. It goes well with a good meal, just be sure not to drink too much. It can make you dizzy if you aren't used to it."
He finished up his sandwich and started nibbling on the fingerfoods, popping what looked to be a cracker with cheese and some basil into his mouth.

“Ah, I see,” she said, taking a few more tiny sips of the wine. “It is…certainly a different taste.” She placed the glass down and ran her finger around the rim gently. After a few more bites of her sandwich, she placed it back down as well. “This night could not be more perfect,” she whispered, closing her eyes for a minute just to take in all of the sounds.
“How did you ever find this place?” she asked, opening her eyes and looking up at him.

He smirked, or rather did as well as he could- and shrugged his shoulders. "It's part of a national park. Easy to get into, nobody will bother us, and full of protected wildlife. I thought it'd be a good location because nobody would try to attack us if they happened to see us as dragons. They wouldn't have weapons in a park."
Tyvra placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Clever thinking, no?"

“You are very smart,” she said, closing her eyes as he pressed his lips upon her head. “It is nice that there really are not many people present. That would be a problem.”
With a sigh, she picked up her wine glass again and took another sip. The taste was starting to grow on her. Once more she put it down and finished her sandwich. “Everything is so perfect!”

"Perhaps... but it will be better soon."
He stood, separating himself from her again to perform a flourishing bow. He took off his tophat in the process and put it down, spreading his wings. The moon replaced the sun by this point and its pale, white light filtered through the purple membranes to cast a glow across the blanket along with his silhouette. Tyvra took a few steps back to create some room and let himself go into a crouching position. Black magical tendrils whipped around him, caressing their way down his body.
As they passed by cloth and skin became scale and bone. His body extended, claws flexed, and tail lengthened until he reached his proper 15 foot long size. He sat now instead of crouched. He wrapped his tail elegantly around himself so the broken spike at the end rested across his front talons.
